TAO SIQI

THOMAS ZIPP

Zipp was born in Heppenheim in 1966 and studied art at the Städelschule in Frankfurt and the Slade School in London. TAMAZ NUTSUBIDZE

Tamaz Nutsubidze was a Georgian painter known for his vibrant and expressive works that often incorporated elements of Georgian culture and folklore. He received formal training in painting from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and went on to achieve widespread recognition and numerous awards for his contributions to the Georgian and former Soviet Union art scene. Despite his success, Nutsubidze remained committed to his artistic vision and continued to paint throughout his life, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the development of contemporary art in Georgia.

TATSUO IKEDA

Tatsuo Ikeda (1928-2020) was a leading avant-garde artist from Japan. He was known for his satirical commentary on contemporary issues through his distorted, grotesque, and biomorphic artworks. He emerged as a leading figure in the Reportage movement during the 1950s and early 1960s. Born in Imari, Saga Prefecture, Ikeda witnessed the rise of imperial aggression and militarist ideology during his early education, which greatly influenced his artistic expression. Despite being drafted as a kamikaze pilot during World War II, he was spared from a tragic fate when the war ended. Ikeda's artwork reflected the profound symbolism of the era, offering a contemplative exploration of the monstrous consequences unleashed upon the world. Throughout his career, Ikeda explored the complexities of humanity's relationship with nature, technology, and the impact of nuclear weapons.

Tetsuya Ishida, a renowned contemporary artist from Yaizu, Japan, was known for his haunting paintings that reflected the anxieties of modern Japan. His art featured anonymous figures in dystopian settings, characterized by precise forms and dreamlike compositions.
