Tao Hui
Tao Hui is a contemporary artist from China known for his video installations and multimedia works. He was born in 1987 in Yunyang, a small town in China's Sichuan province.
Tao Hui graduated from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2010 with a degree in Oil Painting. In his early career, he primarily created paintings and installations, but later shifted his focus to video art. His works explore themes related to Chinese culture, identity, and social norms, often blending together traditional and contemporary elements.
Tao's video installations typically feature a combination of live-action footage and computer-generated imagery, with complex soundscapes that further enhance the visual experience. His works have been exhibited widely both in China and internationally, including at prestigious art institutions such as the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
