Tajh Rust
Tajh Rust is a visual artist based in New York, born in 1989. He received his MFA from Yale in 2019 and his BA in painting and film from Cooper Union in 2011. Rust was part of the inaugural group of artists participating in the Black Rock Senegal artist residency in August 2019.
Rust has had several solo exhibitions, including "Somewhere in Between" at Matthew Brown in Los Angeles in 2022, "Where We Meet" at Matthew Brown in Los Angeles in 2020, "Eve" at Shahile&Me in Frankfurt in 2019, and "Passages" at Fridman Gallery in New York in 2019.
His recent group exhibitions include "Open Call" at The Shed in New York in 2021, "I will wear you in my heart of heart" at The FLAG Art Foundation in New York in 2021, "A Face Like Mine" and "Free as Air and Water" at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT, both in 2021, "For Which It Stands" at Ford Foundation Gallery & Assembly Room in New York in 2020, "Permutations" at Sibler Gallery, Goucher College in Baltimore, MD in 2019, "Vernacular Interior" at Hales Gallery in New York in 2019, "Again, Always" at Green Hall Gallery, Yale University in New Haven, CT in 2019, "Conjuring Wholeness in the Wake of Rupture" at De Buck Gallery in New York in 2019, amongst others.
