Thilo Heinzmann was born in 1969 in Germany. His artistic journey began with his formal education at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Frankfurt am Main, where he studied from 1992 to 1997 under the guidance of acclaimed artist Thomas Bayrle. During this time, Heinzmann honed his skills and developed his unique artistic voice, laying the foundation for his future success.
In addition to his studies and apprenticeships, Heinzmann played a pivotal role in the Berlin art scene during the late 1990s and early 2000s. He co-founded several independent exhibition spaces in the city, including Andersen's Wohnung, Montparnasse, Wandel, and Pazifik. These initiatives underscore his commitment to fostering artistic dialogue and community within the contemporary art landscape.
Heinzmann's artwork has garnered international acclaim and is held in prestigious collections such as Tate Modern in London and the Bundeskunstsammlung. His recent solo exhibitions include "What do you want me to bring you: I am going to town" at Perrotin in Peris (2024), "Thilo Heinzmann" at Perrotin in Shanghai (2023), "Playing Slowies" at neugerriemschneider in Berlin, and many more.
