Tesfaye Bekele's Art Style

The artist's art is deeply connected to nostalgia and childhood memories. The conflict and struggle inherent in his artistic process manifest in the lines and forms he traces across the canvas.

He frequently paints with the canvas positioned on the ground, constructing imagined spaces to situate the body. His understanding of the structures within the human organism, gleaned from studies in biology and physiology, forms the foundation for his intuitive investigations into elaborate networks of synapses, muscles, and bones. These networks extend in skeins of entangled lines and colors applied through dripping, scratching, and pouring paint. The outcomes are potent expressions of a determination to surpass limitations and discover fulfillment in the freedoms of artistic creation.
