Tracey Emin

Tracey Emin is a contemporary British artist known for her confessional and often autobiographical works across a range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and installation. She was born in Croydon, England in 1963 and studied at the Royal College of Art in London.

Emin's work is characterized by its frank exploration of personal themes, including sexuality, identity, and trauma. She often incorporates found objects and text into her work, creating intimate and emotionally charged pieces that engage with questions of love, loss, and human connection.

Emin's work has been exhibited widely in galleries and museums around the world, and she has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions, including a retrospective at the Hayward Gallery in London in 2011. In 2007, she was appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for her contributions to the field of art.
