Taslima Ahmed

Taslima Ahmed is a British artist who was born in Liverpool in 1982 and currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She obtained her MFA degree from the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, Germany in 2014.

Ahmed's artistic practice is situated at the intersection of digital image production, print techniques, and painting. Her work often explores the relationship between our bodies and technology, and she draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, including media theories and commercials. Her works can take the form of imitations of computer screens, organic materials such as paper or canvas, or sculptures.

Although Ahmed's work deals with the digital realm, it is not confined to it. She frequently incorporates traditional painting techniques, such as brushwork and layering, into her pieces, creating works that are visually rich and textured.

In 2023, Ahmed is set to hold a solo exhibition titled "Canvas Automata" at the Westfälischer Kunstverein in Münster, Germany.
