Tillman Kaiser

Tillman Kaiser is a painter and sculptor based in Austria, born in 1972. He studied at Vienna’s Academy of Fine Arts in the 1990s under Friedensreich Hundertwasser, and was influenced by Surrealism, particularly the work of Giorgio de Chirico and René Magritte. His art practice involves playing with abstraction and found materials, exploring the relationship between conscious and subconscious processes, and layering images and forms with a focus on rhythm, symmetry, and syncopation.

One of his early silkscreens, featuring characters from Nigerian soap operas arranged into swirling abstract patterns, was included in the Saatchi Gallery’s 2019 exhibition Kaleidoscope.
