Biography of Manon Bellet
Born in Vevey in 1979, Manon Bellet is a contemporary artist whose journey weaves through different corners of the world, leaving an indelible mark on the art scene. Currently residing and working in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Bellet's artistic odyssey is marked by a rich tapestry of experiences and accolades.
Bellet's artistic journey commenced at the ECAV/HES école cantonale d’art du Valais, where she honed her skills and laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Postgraduate studies at the Cheltenham & Gloucester Art College of Higher Education in England further fueled her creative spirit, providing her with a global perspective on art.
In 2005, Manon Bellet found herself in Warsaw, Poland, participating in the International Studio Residency Program (IAAB) from Basel, Switzerland. The following year, she received a grant from Kunstkredit Basel Stadt and the Clavel Stiftung, adding to her growing list of accolades. The year 2007 brought another prestigious grant, this time from the Fondation Irène Reymond in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Continuing her artistic sojourn, Bellet secured a studio through the Contemporary Art Commission of Canton Baselland in 2009, further solidifying her presence in the Swiss art scene. A private grant from the Nerinum Foundation in 2011 and another residency in Paris in 2012 highlighted her dedication to exploring and expanding her artistic horizons.
