A painter and ceramicist hailing from Los Angeles, California, Hana Ward was born in 1989. Ward's artistic themes frequently center on liberation, memory, history, and diaspora. In her landscape paintings, she captures focal but disappearing parts of her hometown, while her graphic portraits celebrate unsung heroes of our collective legacy.She often depicts Black and Brown feminine figures who reflect and dream, affirming their sovereignty, creativity and self-actualization.

Ward received her BFA from Brown University in 2011 and currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
