Aristeidis Lappas

Aristeidis Lappas (b. 1993) is a Greek artist based in Athens. He studied for a BA at the University of West England, Bristol, UK, during which time he also attended classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy.

Lappas focuses on exploring and shifting the symbols that shape our identities to create new stories. He draws inspiration from Greek mythology but seeks to open it up to a wider audience and make it more relatable. Lappas grew up in an art-oriented family and was encouraged to pursue art from a young age. Despite struggling with traditional academics, he identified as an artist early on and has been dedicated to leaving his mark on the world through his art.

Aristeidis Lappas has exhibited his work in several solo and group exhibitions, including Tenderness of a Cutting Sword at The Breeder Gallery, Athens (2020); Theorimata 2 at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Athens (2020); and Polymorphic Entrancing Topos at P.E.T Projects, Athens (2019). He was also a resident at St.A.I.R, Graz, Austria from November 2020 until January 2021 and received the Artworks Fellow Grant in 2020. Lappas' work was part of the 7th Athens Biennale Eclipse in 2021.
