Quirin Bäumler

Quirin Bäumler is a German artist born in 1965 in Weiden in der Oberpfalz, who currently lives in Berlin. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1992 to 2000, in the class of James Reineking.

Bäumler was influenced by the cultural and social developments of the 1980s, particularly the rise of global capitalism, political upheaval, and the emergence of electronic pop music and hip-hop. His artistic style is characterized by a focus on abstraction, often employing bold colors and gestural brushstrokes to create dynamic compositions.

Bäumler's work has been exhibited extensively throughout Germany and internationally, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He has also received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Bayernwerk Award in 1997 and the Kulturpreis Ostbayern in 2011.
