Biography of Līga Spunde
Līga Spunde was born in 1990 in Riga, Latvia. Līga Spunde embarked on her artistic journey in 2007 when she enrolled at Janis Rozentals Riga Art School in Riga, Latvia.
In 2010, Līga Spunde continued her education at the prestigious Art Academy of Latvia, where she joined the Department of Visual Communication. She pursued her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, deepening her understanding of visual communication and exploring various mediums to convey her artistic vision.
Seeking to expand her horizons and engage with a broader artistic community, Līga Spunde ventured to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in Belgium in 2015. There, she joined the esteemed Department of InSitu3, where she pursued her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree.
She completed her postgraduate studies in the Department of Visual Communication at the Art Academy of Latvia in 2016.
In 2016, Līga Spunde seized an exciting opportunity to expand her artistic perspectives through an internship as a curatorial assistant at Komplot in Brussels, Belgium. Working closely with experienced curators, she gained valuable insights into the curation and presentation of contemporary art, broadening her understanding of the art world.
