Wang Fujui
Wang Fujui is a sound artist and curator specializing in sound art and interactive art. His work has been instrumental in establishing sound as a recognized artistic genre in Taiwan.
Biography of Wang Fujui
Wang Fujui was born in 1969 in Taipei, Taiwan. He founded the country’s first experimental sound label, "NOISE," in 1993. In 2000, he joined the media art collective "Etat" and launched the "BIAS" International Sound Art Exhibition and the Sound Art Prize for the Digital Art Awards Taipei. Wang has worked with the Taipei Digital Arts Center and the Center for Art and Technology at TNUA, curating numerous exhibitions and festivals.
In 2011, Fujui and Yi Lu co-founded Soundwatch Studio to advance the creation, exhibition, performance, and workshops focused on experimental audio art, both locally and internationally.
Wang Fujui is currently an assistant professor in the Department of New Media Arts at Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA). His work has been widely exhibited in museums and festivals in Taiwan and internationally.

Notable performances by Wang Fujui include "Recombinant Noize" (2000), "Electro-accoustic Combat" (presented at Taichung First Noise Art Festival in Taichung in 2002), "Night of Anger" (2009), "Soundroom" (presented at SuperDeluxe in Tokyo in 2013), "Depopulate 04 / White Fungus and N.K" (presented at N.K. Art Space in Berlin in 2014), and many more.
