Y2K

Y2K is an artist duo formed by Youyang Hu and Chiaochi Chou. Established in 2018, Y2K explores the dynamic relationship between humans and plants, creating interactive experiences driven by biological signals to provoke thoughtful reflection.

Y2K's Art Style

After moving their biological hybrid experiments from indoor settings to open nature, Y2K began exploring the gap between human subjective perception and the material world. Their 2022 series "Lichtung," for example, examines the process of energy transfer between matter, information, and living organisms. By analyzing these interactions, Y2K delves into questions surrounding ontology and existence.

Exhibitions of Y2K's Works

Notable solo exhibitions of the duo's works have been held at various venues, including Project Fulfill Art Space in Taipei, the Museum of Natural Science in Taichung, and Songshan Cultural Park in Taipei.

Additionally, Y2K's works have been featured in numerous group shows, including "Streams in the Veins" at Ars Electronica Center in Linz (2024), "The Rat" at Project Fulfill Art Space in Taipei (2023), "Synplant" at Xlab Showcase 2023 in Tokyo (2023), "Cradle" at Stone Sculpture Museum in Hualien (2022), among others.
