Song Yuanyuan

Born in Shenyang, China in 1981, Song Yuanyuan has remained in his birthplace, where he currently lives and works. He obtained his degree in photography from the Lun Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 2005. Although he initially pursued photography, Song eventually turned to painting, incorporating his photographic experience into his creative process and developing a unique approach to composition and color through various painting styles and techniques.

Song's recent paintings primarily feature empty interiors of our everyday life. Multiple images are used to create a picture within a picture, highlighting his mature, confident, and individual style. Despite employing traditional realist painting techniques, Song tackles contemporary subject matters and concepts, joining the ranks of other young artists from his generation who fuse traditional techniques with modern themes.
