Peter Moore
Peter Moore (1932-1993) was a British photographer and filmmaker, known for his pioneering work in capturing performance art and dance in photographs. He was born in London, UK and later moved to the United States, where he continued his work.
Moore's photographic work was groundbreaking in its ability to capture the essence of live performance, often using innovative techniques such as multiple exposures or capturing movement with a slow shutter speed. He photographed many important artists and performers of the 1960s and 1970s, including Yvonne Rainer, Merce Cunningham, and Robert Rauschenberg.
In addition to photography, Moore was also a filmmaker, creating a number of influential films that captured the energy and spirit of the New York art scene.
