Guillaume Valenti

Guillaume Valenti is a French artist born in Paris in 1987. After studying History and Art History at Paris-Sorbonne University, he went on to graduate with honors from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2015. Valenti's work has been featured in several exhibitions worldwide, including in Paris, London, and Los Angeles, and he was in residence at the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid. In 2012, he was awarded the Diamond Prize.

Valenti is primarily a painter, and his work centers around the concept of mise en abyme. His latest paintings explore exhibition spaces such as museum rooms, galleries, and windows as a subject. He carefully chooses perspectives, organizes the space, and plays with the often artificial lighting of the interiors he represents, making portraits of the locations he paints. His works invite the viewer to question their relationship to the exhibition space and the role it plays in the art world.
