Gresham Tapiwa Nyaude
Gresham Tapiwa Nyaude was an artist born in 1988 in Mbare, Zimbabwe. He graduated from the National Gallery of Zimbabwe Visual Arts Studios in 2008 with a National Certificate in Fine Art. His works challenge the preconceived notions of identity created by the state and feature a mix of figuration, abstraction, and hallucination. Nyaude's works have been widely exhibited in Zimbabwe, as well as in South Africa, Australia, and the UK.
Some of his recent exhibitions include "Another Antipodes/urban axis" at the PS Art Space in Fremantle, Australia, "Hello Harare! - Collaging the City" at First Floor Gallery Harare, and "Face the Magic: Gule Wamkulu and its Heirs" at Loving Monro Gallery in Santa Monica, USA, all in 2017.
