Eric Baudelaire
Eric Baudelaire is both an artist and a filmmaker. His diverse body of work, spanning photography and printmaking, often takes the form of multipart installations centered around a main film.
Eric Baudelaire's Art Style
Baudelaire's artistic practice is deeply rooted in what appears to be a documentary tradition, a foundation he continually challenges through rigorous research and experimental or participative methods. Operating in the liminal space between fact and fiction, Baudelaire delves into the intricate relationship that images maintain with historical and sociological realities. His research-driven approach has led him to explore highly specific political subjects, such as the journey of the Japanese Red Army to Lebanon or the unrecognized state of Abkhazia in the Caucasus.
