Brandt Junceau's Art Style

Junceau's work often resembles ancient art due to his use of sculptural reproduction techniques like the press-mold, which dates back to the third millennium BC. His figurative sculptures draw from the vocabulary of classical sculpture, infusing a contemporary twist into the concept of artistic heritage. His interest in figurative sculpture spans from the Pygmalion myth to the early 20th-century fusion of classical and folk art by American sculptor Elie Nadelman. This interest has led him to develop his figures based on drawings and his own imagination rather than live models.
