Biography of Charles March
Charles March was born in 1955 in London, England. At the age of fifteen, he began capturing "Leaver" portraits of boys at his alma mater, Eton College. A year later, he bid farewell to his academic pursuits and, crossing paths with Australian film director Ben Lewin, landed himself a job working on the film "Barry Lyndon" with Stanley Kubrick.
Following that, he embarked on a transformative journey to Africa for ten months. During this time, he worked on a health education photography project along the Somali/Kenya border. In 1975, Charles March returned to London, enriched by his experiences and ready to pursue new artistic endeavors.
In the next fifteen years, March's professional trajectory soared as he contributed to esteemed publications like Harpers & Queen and Italian Vogue. His talent caught the attention of notable clients, leading him to capture captivating campaigns for many brands, including Osborne & Little, De Beers, Levi's, Silk Cut, and Marks & Spencer.
In 2002, March conceived a groundbreaking concept of "using the camera as a brush," an approach he eagerly applied to landscape photography. In 2012, March returned to the public exhibition scene, captivating audiences with his thought-provoking showcase "Nature Translated" at the esteemed Bermondsey Project in London.

March explored the theme of trees in a captivating series of photographs titled "Wood Land," which he unveiled at the renowned Venus Over Manhattan Gallery in New York in 2015. This project was very personal for March as the collection showcased trees and locations that had been integral to his life since childhood, symbolizing an important part of his personal and wider history.
In recent years, March has shifted his artistic gaze towards the sea, giving rise to his captivating series titled "Seascape." Concentrating on a specific, short stretch of the Atlantic Coast near the Bahamian island of Eleuthera, these photographs were meticulously captured over four years during different seasons. The "Seascape" series has been showcased at prestigious venues such as the Venus Over Manhattan Gallery in Los Angeles and was featured at Hamiltons Gallery in September 2017.
