Eva Marisaldi's Art Style
Eva Marisaldi's artistic approach revolves around language, dialogue, and communication between the artist and the viewer. Through various mediums such as performance, installation, drawing, video, and sculpture, she constructs structures, contexts, and situations that challenge acts of communication and uncover hidden facets of everyday life.
For example, in her 1991 performance "Scatola di montaggio," she enclosed herself in a box, prompting spectators to engage in verbal communication without visual contact. Similarly, in her 1993 exhibition "Ragazza materiale," visitors were limited to the first half of the gallery space, relying on descriptions from others to visualize the contents of the second half.
Marisaldi utilizes the exhibition space to explore opportunities for individual and collective reflection, envisioning new narratives that are both tangible and intangible.
