Anna Cabrera
Anna Cabrera is a Spanish photographer who was born in Sevilla in 1969. She began her career in photography as a child, learning from her father who was also a photographer. Cabrera graduated from the Catalan Institute of Photographic Studies in 1992 and then pursued further education at the University of Barcelona.
Cabrera has collaborated with her partner, photographer and artist Angel Albarran, since 1999. Together, they work under the name Albarran Cabrera and specialize in alternative printing techniques such as platinum-palladium and gum bichromate printing. Their work is often described as dreamlike and poetic, with a focus on nature, the environment, and human emotions.
Cabrera and Albarran have exhibited their work internationally and have received numerous awards, including the International Photography Awards in 2014 and the Julia Margaret Cameron Award in 2013. They have also published several books, including "Remembering the Future" (2018) and "The Mouth of Krishna" (2014). Their work can be found in the collections of major institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris.
