Angel Albarrán
Angel Albarrán is a Spanish photographer who works in collaboration with Anna Cabrera. He was born in Barcelona in 1969 and studied photography at the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya (IEFC). Together with Anna Cabrera, he formed the artistic duo Albarrán Cabrera in 2009.
Albarrán's work focuses on exploring the materiality of photography, using alternative processes and techniques to create ethereal and dreamlike images. He often works with large format cameras and experimental printing methods, such as palladium printing, to produce images that have a tactile quality and a unique visual language.
Albarrán has exhibited his work internationally, including in Spain, France, the United States, and Japan. His work is held in the collections of institutions such as the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris and the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, New York.
