Alfredo Aceto
Alfredo Aceto, a visual artist born in 1991 in Turin, currently resides between Turin and Geneva. He completed his Fine Arts education at ECAL (École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne) and is now a teacher at the same institution. Aceto has exhibited his work in various international exhibitions such as DOC! in Paris, Museo Pietro Canonica in Rome, and Kunsthaus Glarus in Switzerland, among others. In 2019, he was awarded the prestigious Leenaards Culture Grant from the Fondation Leenaards, and in 2022 he was nominated for Swiss Art Awards in Basel.
Aceto's bibliography includes works such as Something Between Posthistoria and Prehistoria, edited by Barriera, with texts by Tristan Lavoyer and Stéphanie Serra. Additionally, his first monograph, Alfredo Aceto | Andrea Bellini, was published in 2015 by HAPAX and JRP Ringier. He was also a recipient of numerous residencies, prizes, and public commissions, including the MAIF Prix Pour la Sculpture in Paris, the Swiss Art Awards in Basel, and the Kiefer Hablitzel Prize in Switzerland.
Aceto has held various solo exhibitions, including Andersen’s Contemporary in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen in Switzerland, among others. He has also participated in group exhibitions such as the Swiss Art Awards in Basel, Galerie Noah Klink in Berlin, and The Crowning Show in Zurich, among others.
