Adegboyega Adesina
Adegboyega Adesina was born in 1998 in Lagos, Nigeria, where he currently lives. He creates intimate portraits of Black subjects with rich color palettes and a dynamic sense of personality. His works present a complex investigation of Nigeria through his personal history and culture, traditions, and political views. Adesina describes his paintings as a therapeutic energy transfer from himself to the canvas, a space for his reality and imagination to coexist. Influenced by his day-to-day encounters and global events, he aims to stretch himself artistically and inspire younger generations to explore and grow.
AdesHe took part in the "Stop, listen!" exhibition at CFHILL Art Space in Stockholm and "Black Excellence/Black Elegance" at Ross-Sutton Gallery in Florida in 2021. In 2022, he participated in The Breeder Open Studio in Athens and showcased his latest works at the "1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair" in London and Paris.
