Yukinori Maeda
Yukinori Maeda is a contemporary Japanese artist born in 1973 in Hiroshima, Japan. He studied at Hiroshima City University and completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1997. After graduation, he moved to Tokyo to pursue his art career.
Maeda is known for his mixed media installations that often feature miniature plastic toys and figures arranged in complex and fantastical landscapes. He has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Japan, as well as internationally in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Korea.
In 2008, Maeda received the VOCA Encouragement Prize for his artwork, which is awarded to promising young artists in Japan. He has also been awarded the Kirin Contemporary Art Grand Prize and the Pola Art Foundation Grant.
Maeda's work has been featured in several publications, including ArtAsiaPacific, Artforum, and Art in America. He continues to create art that explores the relationship between humans and their surroundings, and the impact of technology on society.
