SHIM is a new and upcoming artist who explores his neurodiversity and recent traumas through captivating and emotional art that blends styles and contains hidden depths and meanings. 

Biography of SHIM

SHIM originates from the north of England but has spent the past two decades living in London. 

After a highly traumatic 2022, SHIM turned to his passion, art to channel his thoughts, feelings, and desires. In the year that followed, SHIM experimented with different forms of art, materials, and processes, achieving varying degrees of success. During this 'odyssey,' a voyage of both inner and artistic discovery, SHIM was fortunate to sell several pieces of art through a major independent shop on the South Bank in London, close to the Tate Modern. Some of SHIM's work was also published in an international art journal.

SHIM has now honed the creative process and is currently working on a captivating collection of surrealist and abstract collection for 2024 that reflect his mind and thoughts. SHIM is neurodivergent, and his hyperactive mind expresses itself through the use of contrasting imagery and extremes of vivid color and somber pallets. Contemporary themes such as gender, race, sexuality, environmentalism, AI, robotics, biotechnology, and neurodiversity occupy SHIM's thoughts and pervade his work.

Each piece of SHIM's work is laboriously created from inner reflection, conceptualization, and detailed execution. As such, he intends to produce no more than twelve pieces each year, ensuring that quality is not sacrificed for quantity.
