Biography of Shahzad Hassan Ghazi
Born in 1983 in Lahore, Pakistan, Shahzad Hassan Ghazi has dedicated his life to the revival of traditional miniature painting, a practice deeply rooted in his cultural heritage. He embarked on his art studies in 2002, delving into miniature painting a year later. Over time, he mastered this fading traditional craft, becoming a skilled practitioner.
In 2005, he concluded his studies and commenced working at artist studios. Subsequently, he pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) degree at Beaconhouse National University, under the mentorship of Rashid Rana and Salima Hashmi.
Ghazi is deeply convinced that the art of creating miniatures is woven into the fabric of his being, an intrinsic part of his very DNA. Following the partition of India in 1947, many Pakistanis, regrettably, turned away from this rich heritage, neglecting its importance and abandoning its practice. Shahzad Hassan Ghazi sees it as his mission to revitalize and preserve this precious aspect of Pakistani culture.
The artist is currently based in Dubai, UAE.
