Hector Fernández's Formative Years

Hector Fernández has been immersed in a world of creativity, where pencils and paints have been more than just tools. Raised in a family dedicated to artistic creation, Fernández's early environment laid the foundation for a lifelong passion.  After completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialty in Painting at the University of Barcelona in 1994, he moved to the family studio where he developed his pictorial work. From 2000 to 2009, he was part of the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc, a prestigious institution founded by visionaries like Antoni Gaudí in 1893. Here, Fernández delved deep into the study of the human figure.

With over forty exhibitions and numerous international accolades, Fernández established his studio-gallery in the heart of Barcelona in 2009. This marked not just a physical space but a creative hub where he continues to evolve his pictorial career, producing commissioned artworks that reflect the culmination of his artistic journey. His drawings and paintings are present in museums and private art collections around the world.

He is captivated by portraying animals, especially apes like Gorillas, Chimpanzees, and Orangutans, as seen in examples like "Big Pink Gorilla" and "Gorilla." In other instances, Fernández's paintings present zebras in surreal environments, akin to dreamlike imagery, as seen in works like "Zebra Y Bañistas" and "Zebra En Obras."

He began crafting scenes where characters take on a humanoid presence. As a self-proclaimed neophyte in this realm, Fernández sees the unfolding of a new universe, blending traditional components with the avant-garde expressions of digital art.

Fernández's digital works exhibit a distinct aesthetic, referencing the vibrant and saturated palette of the Internet and Virtual Realities. His digital creations, often signed with the pseudonym "THE NOISE," explore the nuances of the human condition in an era dominated by technology, delving into themes of robotization and virtualization.
