Sebastian Dacey
Alongside his intricate drawings on paper, Sebastian Dacey showcases a collection of expansive textile pieces. These textiles are frequently arranged in layers, with some overlapping or positioned one above the other. The fabric itself is deliberately manipulated, exhibiting partial tears, perforations, or frayed edges.
Dacey's painting technique imbues his work with a tangible spatial presence, derived not only from the bold interplay of colors and shapes but also from occasional departures from strict two-dimensionality. His assemblages are distinguished by a whimsical fusion of found objects, the tactile richness of pigment-saturated materials, and the layering of individually crafted motifs.
