Biography of Samsudin Wahab
Samsudin Wahab, born in 1984 in Perak, Malaysia, embarked on his artistic journey by earning a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, in 2007. Co-founding Chetak 12 and Studio Tikus, Wahab demonstrated his versatility.
Noteworthy solo exhibitions include "Enough!" (Galeri Taksu, Kuala Lumpur, 2008) and "Propositions for the Future" (Fergana Art Gallery, Penang, 2015). He has also showcased his work internationally, participating in events like the Kuandu Biennale, Taipei (2016), and benefiting from fellowships such as the Khazanah Nasional Art Residency in Mumbai (2010).
His residency at the Rimbun Dahan 15th Australia-Malaysia Visual Arts Residency in 2009 showcased a diverse range of artistic expressions, including paintings, sculptures, and performance art. Furthermore, Wahab's achievements include being honored with the Malaysia Emerging Artist (MEA) Award in 2009, underscoring his growing influence within the artistic community.
