Rui Miguel Leitão Ferreira

Rui Miguel Leitão Ferreira is a Portuguese artist who was born in Lisbon in 1977. He currently lives and works between Lisbon and Vienna, Austria. Ferreira studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon, where he received a degree in Painting in 2001.

Ferreira's work spans various mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation. His work often explores themes of identity, memory, and the relationship between the individual and their surroundings. Ferreira's art is characterized by a unique style that combines abstract and figurative elements, as well as a bold use of color and texture.

Ferreira has exhibited his work in galleries and museums across Europe and the United States, including the National Museum of Contemporary Art - Museu do Chiado in Lisbon, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He has also received numerous awards and scholarships for his work, including the Gulbenkian Foundation's Young Artists Award in 2006.
