Nima Zaare Nahandi
Nima Zare Nahandi, born in Tehran in 1983, takes a research-driven and analytical approach to his artistic expression. After obtaining a degree in Pure Mathematics from the University of Tehran, he pursued further studies in arts at Beaux-Arts in Paris and completed a two-year art residency at Casa de Vèlazquez in Madrid, where he developed his personal style and philosophy. Zare Nahandi's meticulous technique and ultra-fine details, reflecting his approach to his subjects, often take several months of continuous work to develop into the final piece. His recent works typically involve a man-against-machine challenge, where he adds ultra-fine details to an already-detailed layer of archival print using only the most basic drawing material - a pencil.
