Monica Bonvicini

Monica Bonvicini is an Italian artist who was born in Venice in 1965. She is known for her provocative and politically charged work that often addresses issues related to gender, power, and the relationship between the body and the built environment.

Bonvicini's work often takes the form of large-scale installations, sculptures, and architectural interventions that challenge traditional notions of space and power. In 2012 Bonvicini was appointed Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
