Mehreen Murtaza
Mehreen Murtaza (b. 1986 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) is a multimedia artist whose work revolves around themes of human existence and modern civilization. Her exploration of the interplay between technology and nature often involves the use of digital tools, and her pieces incorporate elements of religion, myth, and politics. Through the use of parody and imitation, Murtaza offers a critical analysis of contemporary society. She has participated in workshops organized by institutions such as VASL, the German Cultural Center in Lahore, and Khoj in New Delhi, and her work has been exhibited in Pakistan as well as at various galleries and museums internationally. Currently, Murtaza resides and creates in Lahore, Pakistan.
