Matthieu Haberard
Matthieu Haberard is a French artist born in 1991 in Toulouse, currently living and working in Paris. Haberard's practice revolves around exploring the intersection between childhood and adulthood, and he is particularly interested in the imagination of children that often gets lost in the transition to adulthood. His sculptures and textile works are made with exceptional craftsmanship, all done by hand, intentionally ignoring easier technological production techniques like 3D printing. Haberard aims to evoke intuition and abandon reason, consequentiality, and the constraints of language.
Haberard has exhibited his works in various exhibitions, including "100%" at Halle de la Villette in Paris in 2019, "Outside Our" at Fondation Emerige in Paris, "The Dance of Atoms" curated by Daiga Grantina at DOC in Paris, "Beaux Amis" at Wendy Gallery in Paris in 2018, "Sur La Route Après l'Insomnie" at Gianni Manhattan in Vienna, and "Nos Ombres Devant Nous" at Fondation Ricard in Paris in 2017. His works were also displayed in the group exhibitions "Drawings" and "Friend Of A Friend" at Gianni Manhattan in Vienna in 2021 and 2018, respectively, and in "Fever Dream" and "Paris Internationale" in 2017.
