Marco Bruzzone

Marco Bruzzone is an Italian artist based in Berlin, born in Genoa in 1974. He studied biology at the University of Genoa and photography and new technologies at the Bauer Institute in Milan. His conceptual artwork often explores the relationship between people and their surroundings, with a particular focus on food and how it interacts with the body. His work takes on various forms, including painting, sculpture, and performance.

Bruzzone runs a gallery called Beyond, which is located in the hollow of a platanus tree in Berlin. His work is represented by the Berlin gallery Gillmeier Rech and is exhibited regularly in international institutions and galleries. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, including at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Kunsthalle Basel and OSLO10 in Basel, WIELS in Brussels, and VeneKlasen/Werner in Berlin.

Recent exhibitions by Bruzzone include shows at Hordaland Kunstsenter in Bergen, Norway; Kustverein Arnsberg in Germany; Ashley in Berlin; Museo Hermann Nitsch in Naples; Gillmeier Rech in Berlin; MJ in Geneva; Dingum in Berlin; Chateau Shatto and Paradise Garage in Los Angeles; Performa 13 in New York City; Kings ARI in Melbourne; Tag Team in Bergen; Almanac in London; and Isabella Bortolozzi Galerie in Berlin.

Bruzzone is currently an artist in residence on Fogo Island.
