Leda Catunda
Leda Catunda is a Brazilian artist born in São Paulo in 1961. She studied at the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation and the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo.
Catunda's work spans a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and installation. Her work often incorporates bright colors and patterns, drawing from popular culture and Brazilian traditions, as well as exploring themes of identity, femininity, and the body.
Catunda has exhibited her work extensively in Brazil and internationally, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Serpentine Gallery in London, and the São Paulo Biennial. In 2010, she was awarded the Brazilian National Order of Cultural Merit for her contributions to Brazilian art.
