Julien Segard
Julien Segard is an artist born in 1980 in Marseille, France, who currently lives and works in Goa, India. He earned his Master of Arts degree from École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris, from 2004 to 2008, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Provence, Aix-en-Provence, France, from 2002 to 2004. He also holds a Graphic Design Diploma from Lycée Saint Joseph les Maristes, Marseille, France, which he received from 1999 to 2002.
Segard has held several solo exhibitions throughout his career, including "A View From Nowhere" at Experimenter in Kolkata in 2021, "Dark Was The Night" at Experimenter in Kolkata in 2020, and "A Second Coming" at Experimenter in Kolkata in 2019. He also exhibited "Anywhere But Here" at Experimenter in Kolkata in 2015, as well as at India Art Fair in New Delhi with Birla Academy. Other notable solo exhibitions include "Kuwait" at Partapur, Rajasthan, India, and "Between the shelter and the temple" at The Rose project space in New Delhi in 2012, and "Peregrinations" at Ilan Engel in Paris in 2010.
Segard has participated in numerous group exhibitions as well, such as "Searching for Stars Amongst the Crescents" at Experimenter in Kolkata and "Sex toys for collectors" in New Delhi in 2019, "I Wish to Let You Fall Out of My Hands (Chapter II)" at Experimenter, Art Dubai, and India Art Fair in 2018, and "Sensorium" at Sunaparanta, Goa Centre for the Arts, Goa, India. He also participated in "India Art Fair" in New Delhi and "Art Basel" in Hong Kong and Dubai in various years from 2016 to 2018. Other notable group exhibitions include "Urban Utopia" at Birla Academy in Kolkata in 2014, "Lateral" at Kona in New Delhi and "Dessins contemporains" at PHAKT in Rennes, France in 2013, and "Subliminal Metropolis" at Latitude 28 in New Delhi and "Sarai Reader" at Devi Art Foundation in Gurugram, India in 2012.
