Judith Bernstein
Judith Bernstein is an American feminist artist known for her provocative and confrontational works that explore themes of sexuality, gender, and power. Bernstein was born in Newark, New Jersey and studied at the Yale School of Art and Architecture.
Bernstein's work often employs bold, graphic imagery and text-based elements to address issues of women's rights, violence against women, and the objectification of the female body. She is known for her use of phallic shapes and imagery, which she uses to subvert traditional notions of power and dominance.
Bernstein is also known for her activism and advocacy work, and has been a vocal supporter of women's rights and the feminist movement throughout her career. She was a founding member of the feminist art collective A.I.R. Gallery in New York City, and has served as a mentor and inspiration to numerous younger artists.
