Harley Kuyck-Cohen

Harley Kuyck-Cohen is a British artist who explores the relationship between public and private space through a variety of media, including sculpture, architecture, installation, and time-based assemblages. Born in 1994, Kuyck-Cohen currently lives and works in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, and is represented by LUNGLEY Gallery in London.

Kuyck-Cohen earned a BA in Fine Art from The Slade School of Fine Art in 2018, after completing an Art Foundation Diploma at Stroud College of Art in 2014. They have received several awards and scholarships, including the Stanbury Prize from The Slade School of Art in 2017, the Duveen Travel Scholarship in 2018, and being shortlisted for The Woon Prize for Sculpture and Painting, The Mark Tanner Sculpture Award, and The Exeter Contemporary in 2018 and 2019.

Kuyck-Cohen has had solo exhibitions, including "Brown Carpet" at Slugtown in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2022, and "St. Paul's Cathedral" at LUNGLEY Gallery in Haggerston, London in 2019. In 2020, they were shortlisted for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries. Kuyck-Cohen's work revolves around the politics of living, with a particular focus on the home and the practices that take place within it.
