Glenn Sorensen
Glenn Sorensen is an Australian-born artist who currently lives and works in Sweden. He was born in 1968 in Sydney, Australia, and studied at the City Art Institute in Sydney between 1986 and 1988. Later, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, Finland.
Sorensen is known for his intimate, small-scale paintings that depict flowers, domestic objects, and people from his own life. He uses bright colors, interesting compositions, and a unique atmosphere in his works that often create a sense of unease and loneliness. His paintings are not always strictly realistic, but they have a dreamlike quality that invites the viewer to look more closely and contemplate their meaning.
His solo and group exhibitions include Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art, Copenhagen (2021), Annet Gelink Gallery (2020 & 2015), Corvi-Mora, London (2019 & 2016), Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Sydney (2012), Galleria Raucci/Santamaria, Naples (2011), Pump House Gallery, London (2010), Galeri Nicolai Wallner, Copenhagen (2008) and others.
