Florian Süssmayr
Florian Süssmayr is a German painter renowned for his atmospheric, photorealist oil paintings depicting protestors, band posters, and graffitied walls. He often uses greenish or pallid hues, occasionally presenting entirely monochromatic compositions reminiscent of contemporary painters like Gerhard Richter or Luc Tuymans.
Biography of Florian Süssmayr
Florian Süssmayr was born in 1963 in Munich, Germany. In the early 1980s, Süssmayr was a member of the punk movement 'Freizeit 81' and played in the punk band 'Lorenz Lorenz' until 1984.
Between 1990 and 2000, he worked as a cameraman and light technician with notable filmmakers such as R. Karmakar and H. Stadler. Since 1997, Süssmayr has focused on his career as an oil painter.
Süssmayr has exhibited his works in several solo exhibitions, including shows at Galerie Rüdiger Schöttle in Munich, C.A. Contemporary in Vienna, Miyake Fine Art in Tokyo, galería vilaseco hause in La Coruna, Nicholas Robinson Gallery in New York, Karl Hutter Fine Art in Beverly Hills, among others.
The artist has participated in numerous group shows, including "Ungekämmte Bilder.
