Donald Moffett was born in 1955 in San Antonio, Texas. At Trinity University, he pursued a dual course of study, delving into Art and Biology. His dedication and commitment led him to earn a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree upon completing his studies.

Donald Moffett is a founding member of Gran Fury, the artistic wing of the AIDS activist group ACT UP. As a vital part of this group, he contributed to their powerful and impactful art installations and campaigns, using art as a means to raise awareness about the AIDS epidemic and advocate for social and political change.
