Diango Hernández was born in Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, in 1970. His mother initially worked as a high school teacher, later advancing to the position of professor, while his father pursued a career as an engineer.

He studied Industrial Design at the Havana Superior Institute of Design from 1989 to 1994. After a brief tenure at an architecture firm, he established a collaborative venture with Ernesto Oroza, Juan Bernal, Francis Acea, and Manuel Piña under the name of Ordo Amoris Cabinet.

The group developed sculptural installations that incorporated various research methodologies to address social and cultural issues in Cuba. They showcased their work extensively throughout the Americas and Europe, disbanding in 2003. In the same year, Diango Hernández left Cuba and arrived in Europe, where he settled in Düsseldorf, Germany.

During his career, he was an artist in residence at Salzamt, Linz, Austria (2014); Fondazione Brodbeck, Catania, Italy (2012); Blood Mountain Foundation, Budapest, Hungary (2010); Frac des Pays de la Loire, Carquefou, France (2007); Museum Abteiberg, Mönchengladbach, Germany (2005), among others.

Diango Hernández's solo exhibitions have been held at various venues, including FL GALLERY | WIZARD GALLERY, Arsenal Habana, Galería Casado Santapau, Galerie Barbara Thumm, Nicolas Krupp, Federico Luger Gallery, Kunsthalle Münster, Art Brussels, Est Art Fair, and many more.
