Christina Forrer
Christina Forrer is a Swiss artist who was born in 1978. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles, USA. Forrer studied at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Basel and the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia.
Forrer is known for her large-scale hand-woven tapestries, which are characterized by bold colors and abstract shapes. Her work often explores themes of mythology, folklore, and the human condition. She draws inspiration from her travels, as well as her experiences growing up in Switzerland.
Forrer's work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, the Kunsthaus Baselland in Switzerland, and the Halle für Kunst in Lüneburg, Germany. In 2019, she was awarded the Swiss Art Award.
