Biography of Yunhee Min
Yunhee Min was born in 1961 in Seoul, South Korea. Educated at the prestigious ArtCenter College of Design, where she earned her BFA in 1991, Min further honed her skills at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf as a guest student under the tutelage of Professor Günther Uecker.
Her academic journey culminated in a Master of Arts in Design Studies from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design in 2007, providing her with a rich foundation for her multifaceted artistic endeavors.
Min has been honored with the Korea Arts Foundation of America Artist Grant, the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Individual Artist Grant, and the University of California Institute for Research in the Arts Grant. Additionally, in 2022, she was granted a Guggenheim Fellowship in Fine Art.
Her works have been showcased in prestigious galleries and museums worldwide, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, UCLA Hammer Museum, and Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego.
Yunhee Min's recent solo exhibitions include "Yunhee Min" at Miles McEnery in New York (2023), "Vitreous Opacities" at Vielmetter Los Angeles in Los Angeles (2021), "Up Close in Distance" at Gallery Platform LA (2020), "Hammer Projects: Yunhee Min" at Hammer Museum in Los Angeles (2019), and many more.
Currently, she lives and works in Los Angeles.
