Biography of Elizabeth Neel
Elizabeth Neel, the granddaughter of the painter Alice Neel, was born in 1975 in Stowe, Vermont.
She received her BA from Brown University in 1997 and an MFA from Columbia University in 2007. Additionally, Neel obtained a Diploma Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 2002.
Her recent solo exhibitions include "The Ghosts of My Friends" at Vielmetter Los Angeles in Los Angeles (2023), "Elizabeth Neel: Arms Now Legs" at Salon 94 in New York (2021), "Elizabeth Neel: In The Belly of the Whale" at Various Small Fires in Seoul (2020), "Life in Halves" at Vielmetter Los Angeles in Los Angeles (2020), and many more.
Additionally, Elizabeth Neel has participated in numerous group exhibitions worldwide, including the Fifth Prague Biennial (2011). Her works have been featured in shows held at prestigious venues such as LGDR & Wei in Hong Kong, Levy Gorvy in Palm Beach, Galerie Maria Bernheim in Zurich, Mary Boone in New York, Victoria Miro in London, among others.
Currently, Elizabeth Neel resides in New York, where she continues to work.
